Amala Cancer Research Centre was established in 1982 and was registered as a Society in 1984. It is recognized by University of Calicut and Mahatma Gandhi University.

It undertakes scientific research in the area of Cancer and other related branches of medical science, both in basic and in applied fields. The centre is recognized by the Indian Council of Medical Research, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology and Department of Atomic Energy

The Centre has published over 400 research papers during the last 22 years in reputed National and International Journals.
