DEPARTMENT OF ANAESTHESIOLOGY

Overview:

The department functions as the backbone of Amala Hospital extending its services to all other clinical departments. Services vary from helping out to get IV access in difficult cases to Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. There are ten Operation Theatres functioning daily from 8 am till the scheduled operations are over. Emergency Operations are undertaken round-the-clock under Anaesthesia coverage. All surgical departments are functioning in the Operation Theatre.

Facilities:

1. Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic: All elective cases are evaluated and prepared in the pre-anaesthetic clinic.

2. Anaesthesia in remote locations like CT Scan MRI, Radiotherapy, Endoscopy, Modified ECT.

3. Intensive Care Units: Pain relief, resuscitation, respiratory support including mechanical ventilation.

4. Emergency Medicine: Resuscitation and trauma care.

5. Pain and Palliative Care: Pain relief and support care are offered to terminally ill cancer patients.

Equipments:

Modern Anaesthesia Machines are available in all operation theatres. Anaesthesia Ventilators are used in all operation theatres. There are several ICU Ventilators in different ICUs.
